During your ACLS Skills Session

The hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor includes skills practice and a brief time to ask questions prior to testing. Below you will find a list of the skills you will need to demonstrate during your in-person skills session appointment with CSRE. Additional resources are also listed for your success.

  1. High-Quality Adult CPR
  2. AED Purpose and Usage
  3. Airway management
    • Sizing and insertion of an oropharyngeal airway (OPA) or nasopharyngeal airway (NPA)
    • BVM ventilation
    • Endotracheal Intubation (if in scope and responsibility)
  4. Megacode Event
    • The Megacode event prepares you to lead an arrest scenario.
    • You will direct rhythm analysis and patient assessment, as well as high-quality BLS, airway management, medication management, and general resuscitation team dynamics.
    • You will be able to utilize the AHA ACLS Code card, and any other branded and applicable AHA materials, during the Megacode Event.

You may also want to take the AHA Precourse Self-Assessment (1-hour) to evaluate your proficiency and identify any need for additional review and practice in 3 sections: rhythm recognition, pharmacology, and practical application.
