During your PALS Skills Session

Below you will find a list of the skills you will need to demonstrate during your in-person skills session appointment with CSRE.

  1. High-Quality Child CPR and Ventilations
  2. AED Purpose and Usage
  3. High-Quality Infant CPR and Ventilations
  4. Infant Airway Management and BVM Usage
  5. Airway and Respiratory Emergency management
    • FIO2, Low-Flow, and High-Flow delivery devices
    • Sizing and insertion of an oropharyngeal airway (OPA) or nasopharyngeal airway (NPA)
    • BVM ventilation
    • Endotracheal Intubation (if in scope and responsibility)
  6. Intraosseous Cannulation
  7. Scenarios (minimum 2)
    • The Scenarios will cover a range of topics from shock to cardiac.
    • The Scenarios will prepare you to lead a team responsible for stabilizing pediatric events.
    • Your will direct rhythm analysis and patient assessment, high-quality BLS, airway management, establishing IV or IO access, medication management, and the general resuscitation team dynamics.
    • You will be able to utilize the AHA PALS Code card, a color-coded length-based tape, and any other AHA materials, during the Scenarios
