Community Safety & Response Educators (CSRE) opened its doors in January 2021. The business plan evolved from our own need to find Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) courses offered in the Richmond metro area. There were surprisingly few options even before the pandemic and fewer still in the season of social distancing and gathering restrictions. The outer boundaries of the Commonwealth boasted training centers fully equipped to support their communities while the central Virginia region was almost void of the same educational opportunities.

The CSRE vision is to offer professional, quality, reliable CPR and ECC course opportunities to professionals and residents of central Virginia. These values helped us to find a partner in aligning with Vitali Partners, our Training Center located in Knoxville, TN. Our intention is to fill the education void by developing sound relationships. We are committed to serving our community with a reputation for encouragement, partnership, and knowledge.

The CSRE Team worked creatively to utilize online resources already in place to quickly accommodate the ongoing need for high-quality CPR education on a regular schedule. In the second quarter of 2021, the CSRE Team moved to a more permanent location at 2819 N Parham Road, Henrico, VA 23294. We are on the second floor in Suite 280. We continue to position the company to adapt and grow as the community continues to desire one-to-one appointments and small group classes. This flexibility will only bolster our student’s success.

Our CSRE instructors are practitioners of the material as we are current medical professionals and first responders in the Richmond and Charlottesville metro area. Our combined years of certification and instruction exceed a half-century. Students comment that our instructors are both knowledgeable and approachable.

Our CSRE Staff

Matt Seibert

Training Site Coordinator, AHA Training Faculty, and Heartsaver®, BLS, ACLS, & PALS Instructor

Matt’s experience with CPR began in the 7th grade when he went into respiratory arrest following an accident in gym class. His coach used the skills, presented in many of the AHA courses, to breathe for him until he recovered.

Matt began teaching CPR courses in college at Texas A&M University. He became an AHA CPR-IT and the Brazos County CPR coordinator before turning 21. Less than a year later, he had the unfortunate experience of performing CPR on his own child who was born with a cardiac arrhythmia. A short two years after that, Matt would recognize the signs of a stroke in his youngest child, who he rushed to the emergency department.

Ever since, he has continued his passion for teaching about emergency response and preparing others. Matt loves to share his stories, and encourages others to tell theirs.

“It is through the shared experiences of all that we learn.”

Kristen Seibert

Operations Director, AHA Training Faculty, and Heartsaver®, BLS, and STOP THE BLEED® Instructor

Kristen Seibert is an entrepreneur at heart. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Mary Washington College and, in addition to developing her own businesses, she has held positions of Office Manager, Program and Administrative Coordinator, and Corporate Inventory Control Coordinator for varied industries, spanning more than 20 years.

The American Heart Association was among her first volunteer experiences – at the age of seven. Mrs. Janie W. Dowdy (Mom) had a career of more than 35-years in the Virginia Affiliate of the AHA. From educating teachers and students about the risks of smoking, to active fundraising in “Jump Rope for Heart” programs, or passive campaign envelope stuffing, Kristen championed the fight against heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. She continues to support the AHA in memory of her hero-mom.

Currently, Kristen lives in the west end of Richmond. She enjoys traveling, crafts, and being outdoors.
